What is a similarity rate?

A similarity rate measures the degree of matching between two texts. It represents the quantity of passages in the document analysed that are similar to resources from the Internet, scientific publications, student work and other academic content.

It is useful to measure the similarity rate to assess the originality of a work and check whether it contains parts copied from other sources.
